QR> When there is no finalized design but there is a need to make a good prelimianry presentation. When a tight schedule and close deadlines demand less production times.
PR> When bidding on a project and the best quality is needed. When you need the most realism in 3D images. For products that will be featured in magazines, brochures and web sites.
Usually, we establish before hand how much detail the client needs for the renderings, based on that the price of the quote can be higher or lower. Production times are shorter with QR, so on average the cost is between 30 - 40% less than the PR price. A Quick Render scene can be transformed into a Premier Render scene. So we can start off with a simple model and then make it more complex. In the end, is is cheaper to start directly with the PR scene than to convert a QR scene into a Premier because of a few extra steps.
It depends on the scale and complexity of the project the client wants. We try to keep production times to the minimum possible to favor the client in the form of speed and savings. Our typical production times are between 2 and 4 weeks. There are projects that demand more and some that demand less, but that is the average.
We need technical drawings in the form of plans and elevations. Material swatches of fabrics, leathers, veneers, etc. We scan them and then send them back. If the client prefers and knows how, he can scan them. We also need a description of what scenes the client want to portray and with what amount of detail. Finally, we need to know the deadline.
